Defoamers
Belith DE products are high performance defoamers in powder form. They are designed to meet the defoamer needs of ready mix mortars and are based on high quality, unconcerning ingredients.
While it is difficult to predict a defoamers contribution to relevant performance properties of a mortar, the products may be differentiated by their key intended properties:
Belith DE22 – very strong defoamer based on renewable raw materials and their derivatives
Belith DE25 – like DE22 with additions of synthetic ingredients for a density maximisation
Belith DE26 – (25FS3) like DE25 with additions of compatibilisers to improve surface aspect
Belith DE30 – fast,effective defoamer for tile grouts and SLUs, high densities and best surfaces
Belith DE31 – (DE30mod6) similar to DE30
Belith DE41-fast defoamer and displacement of air from substrate - and particle surfaces
Belith DE43 – similar to DE41, but greater emphasis on defoaming of the liquid phase
Belith DE45 – similar to DE41/43 with maximum effectivity due to maximum concentration of actives
Belith DE60 – effective defoamer to avoid surface defects from large local defoamer concentrations
Belith DE70 – like DE60 with altered handling properties

The product used exhibited surface defects in the mortar, the “best reference” was far too expensive, Belith DE60 led to an improved surface but insufficient density and the improvements by the “experimental” product did not represent a sufficient incentive to change.
Combinations of the DE60 technology and that of the experimental product proved to be synergistic and fully satisfactory in many instances and resulted in the Belith DE4x product range. The Belith DE3x products represent yet another technological approach. Belith can, today, frequently offer very satisfactory defoamer solutions, as the following example may illustrate:

In this case, Belith DE30 is preferable over Belith DE25 because of its better performance under adverse mixing conditions.
